DB: Lime Crostata

The 2010 November Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Simona of briciole. She chose to challenge Daring Bakers’ to make pasta frolla for a crostata. She used her own experience as a source, as well as information from Pellegrino Artusi’s Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well.

I made version 1 of the pasta frolla. This was extremely last minute, had some limes lying around so I decided for a Lime Crostata!
I didn't taste it (had some bad experience with lemon bars a few years back and refuse to eat anything lime or lemon ever since) but future hubby loved it so that's good.

Thanks again for letting me try something new, can't wait for next month!

  1. Looks yummy. Did you add the lime to a pastry cream or make a curd? shame you didn't get to enjoy it.

  2. I can't imagine putting so much effort into making something and not being able to taste it myself! I would have loved your lime version, I commented on the fact that I think the pastry cream would go well with something sharp and zingy in my own post and this , I think, would be perfect!

  3. I think lime crema would be the perfect filling for this crostata and I'm impressed that you did and you can't even taste it. Wonderful effort on this challenge.

Cheers from Audax in Sydney Australia.
